Here's a low on this famous food and how it's extracted from the palm tree. Sabudana, also known as Sago, saksak, rabia and sagu, is an edible starch derived from the pith or the tropical pal spongy core in different parts of the world. , it has been a staple for people staying in the Tropical regions. Coming to seeds of Sabudana or Tapioca, Tapioca seeds are simply made of starch derived from the root of cassava. Cassava is a good example of a plant which thrives on low quality soil.

How is going to Extracted from Plant

Each time the sago is excluded a palm tree is uprooted and the trunk is cut and crushed into a dust of the saw. There are several ways in which sago is extracted. The reason why many people find the conventional extraction hygiene method is because the saw dust or the pith of the trunk is mixed with water and kneaded with hands. The tropical water is normally warm and this leads to the hydrolysis process, which leads to breaking down the starch molecules and turning small enough to move through filters. Such starchy water is collected in the tree trunk and left open for as much as 24 hours. The starchy water is then released, and what remains is a strong sedimentation of the sago in a fibrous and sticky shape, which is then extracted and kneaded by hands. This residue is then grinded into a coarse powder shape and left open to dry in the sun and then deposited in a jar made of palm leaves
